The Opportunity

This position is a pivotal role on the Member Meetings and Professional Development Team leading the program development process for events with primary focus on the annual Spring and
Fall Meetings. The position will also act as liaison with the volunteer programming committee, while ensuring innovative program content, constructs and modes of delivery. For more information on ULI's upcoming meetings, visit

Specific Responsibilities

• Direct the engagement of the program committee in the peer review process of program proposals.

• Manage the speaker management system as the tool to aggregate all meeting program materials.

• Manage the Speaker Series track including the research, recommendations and confirmations of speakers.

• Work one-on-one with session designers to ensure that the programs are of high quality and relevance to ULI members.

• Research and recommend relevant and topical keynote speakers that will be of interest to the broad membership of ULI.

• Identify and recommend a variety of programming options, content and format, for the Fall and Spring Meetings.

• Work with ULI staff from other departments to develop recommendations for strong program topics and programs from topical conferences that would be appropriate for Spring Council Forums, Fall Meetings, Conferences, and Council programs.

• Refine and manage the data base of available experts and others who have provided program content in the past and who would be appropriate for planned programs.

• Work on a continuous basis with members of the Program Committee. Work closely with key note speakers and their representatives. Work with program organizers and moderators.

• Work closely with all ULI staff.

Professional Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, business administration, real estate development; or related area or comparable experience.
• 7 – 10 years of experience in developing content for professional meetings or programs; experience in real estate and land development arena preferred, but not required.
• Experience in a non profit or association organization preferred.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service and/or member service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work with members of the organization.
• Creative and innovate professional programming skills.
• Strong, concise written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
