CREW DC Welcome Kathleen Matthews to March Program

Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) DC invites members and the public for “The Future is Female: Women, Politics and Real Estate”, a lively discussion focused at the intersection of politics and real estate. Moderator and 2018 CREW DC President, Barbara Mackin of Citizens Financial Group, Inc. will lead the discussion as Democratic Committee of Maryland Chair, Kathleen Matthews shares real estate initiatives regarding infrastructure spending, tax reform, public expenditures and much more. She will also share her personal story of navigating the male- dominated field of politics and encouraging more women to get involved. [Note: Maryland Federation of Republican Women, Diana Waterman, was invited and planned to attend but regrettably had to cancel.]

Kathleen Ann Matthews is the former chief communications and public affairs officer for hotel company Marriott International. Prior to joining Marriott International, she was a reporter for 25 years at WJLA-TV. She was a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for Maryland's 8th congressional district in the 2016 elections. She is the current chair for the Maryland Democratic Party.

This lunch program is open to members and non-members and will be held on Tuesday, March 13th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at The Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Avenue, NW in Washington, DC. General registration is available through the CREW DC website at www.crewdc.org.
