Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) DC is proud to announce that CREW DC member and Past President, Sadhvi Subramanian, Senior Vice President for Capital One, was named by CREW Network as the winner of the 2020 Career Advancement for Women Impact Award. The Career Advancement for Women Impact Award honors a CREW Network member who consistently exemplifies the organization’s commitment to elevating the status of women in commercial real estate by working to advance the careers of other women. This award is presented to a member whose actions had a significant impact on one or more women, giving them the skills or confidence to pursue and succeed in new opportunities.
CREW DC 2020 President, Jenna Kirkpatrick Howard, noted Subramanian’s contributions, by saying, “Sadhvi is a powerful voice in our community and a role model for all of us. As a CREW DC member for many years, including her tenure as President in 2012, Sadhvi has been instrumental in the growth of our chapter and created new initiatives to engage senior leaders in our industry. She continues to support our members, sponsors and stakeholders by advocating for women and for diversity within our industry. CREW DC is fortunate to have Sadhvi as a member, friend, and leader.  We are incredibly proud of Sadhvi and this recognition.”
Subramanian sits on the Capital One Commercial Bank Diversity & Inclusion panel where she founded the Commercial Real Estate Mentorship Program. She is involved with the Urban Land Institute’s Women Leadership Initiative and was part of their mentorship program. She was the impetus for a partnership between Capital One and CREW Network that led to the bank’s sponsorship of the 2019 white paper, Accelerating the Advancement of Women in Commercial Real Estate and of the 2020 benchmark study, Gender and Diversity in Commercial Real Estate. She has mentored numerous women, both informally and through formal programs, throughout her career, bringing her deft personal touch to helping women find their voice, explore their capabilities and reach for their goals. A strong advocate for women on board positions, she is involved with Women on Boards, The James Beard Foundation and Women for Women International.
Subramanian is a board member of the Real Estate Lenders Association DC, is also the Co-Chair of the Luncheon Committee for the Trust for the National Mall and a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of DC.
