Supporting Our CREW and Future Leaders
As we celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, I want to share CREW Network’s focus on the present and future for women in commercial real estate. CREW Network (OUR network) unites individuals with a culture of inclusion and belonging that inspires engagement, breaks down barriers, accelerates growth, and provides collaboration for our chapters, members, and partners. We believe diverse voices enrich our business connections and drive innovation.
CREW Network facilitates business networking and deal making among a multi-disciplinary global membership—more than 12,000 strong in 71 chapters throughout the United States and nine chapters across Canada, France, and the UK, with new US and global chapters added each year. CREW delivers impactful learning and networking at three Network Leadership Summits and the Network Convention. Members receive exclusive access to our global CREWbiz technology platform, which serves as a membership directory, resource and referral center, and member marketing tool.
Our CREW is committed to building effective leaders in the industry and dedicates significant resources to high-level leadership development training. We have opportunities for members to serve on global boards and committees to develop and hone their leadership skills. CREW Network hosts an annual Leadership Certificate Program and launched an Emerging Leaders Retreat in 2022.
Commercial real estate offers rewarding and lucrative careers often overlooked by women who may be unaware these careers exist. We are committed to bringing more women into CRE through the work of our local chapter and CREW Network Foundation. We have established educational programs at the chapter/local level to expose women and girls to CRE careers.
CREW DC has many energized members delivering CREW Careers and UCREW programs. We help students and those new to the industry connect with experienced members to develop mentoring relationships. Through its scholarship program, CREW Network Foundation supports future women leaders as they pursue university-level education leading to careers in commercial real estate. In 2022, the Foundation will award 30, $5,000 scholarships. The scholarship application deadline is April 15, 2022, so if you know a woman college student interested in commercial real estate, please encourage her to apply online HERE. CREW Network Foundation is the world’s leading producer of research on gender and diversity in commercial real estate. We produce annual research papers and a benchmark study every five years, delivering data and action items to advance ALL women in commercial real estate, and drive action in the industry.
