What Do Employees Want?

It’s a New World

If there is one thing that nearly all Americans do - it’s work. We spend nearly 90,000 hours of our life doing it - and in many scenarios, the experience can be stressful, mentally and emotionally taxing, and not economically sufficient to support ordinary costs of living.

Welcome to the new labor market. The social contract between employers and employees is rapidly changing. Current and prospective employees demand material change including higher pay, better benefits, more flexibility, workplace amenities, meaningful work and more balance between work and personal life. People expect to see employers promoting equality, inclusiveness, innovation and opportunities for all to create a more human-centered economy.

Employers have been rethinking and re-working their recruiting and retention strategies to support these demands and to support business growth in a shrinking labor market. Modern corporate wellness programs are proven to improve employee behaviors, reduce health risks, reduce health care costs, improve productivity, and even decrease absenteeism. These factors each can correlate directly to a happier relationship between the employee and employer and blaze a path for employees to find true health and happiness at their jobs.

We’ll hear from executives working today to find and implement the changes needed to sustain employees and companies through what the World Economic Forum calls ‘The Fourth Industrial Revolution’.

All are welcome. Space is limited.
Registered attendees will receive a pre-release link to the film The Workplace Garden, which has been submitted for several documentary film awards.

About Our Location: Eaton DC opened in 2018 and is inspired by the historic political and countercultural movements that struggled for social and environmental progress. The design references old newsrooms and the history of the building as a bus terminal and a printing house evoking the nostalgia of an analog era while presenting an explosion of greenery and holistic offerings on K Street.
