A Conversation with Dr. Dawn Graham

Whether you’re considering advancement opportunities, changing roles within your company, seeking a new role following a merger or downsizing, reentering the workforce or planning to retire, this event is for you. Dr. Dawn Graham is a fun, smart, entertaining expert. Stephanie Duncan understands our industry and its challenges. Join us to be part of this enjoyable yet deeply practical conversation.

Our world is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. Leaders and individual employees alike need to adapt to shifting priorities as markets and global conditions change rapidly. Companies and work are being restructured to adapt.

You can’t wait for disruption to knock on your door, instead you need to future-proof yourself. A key rule of disruption is to take what you have and shape it into something that is relevant and of value to the new iteration. You must know how to pivot, shape shift and adapt to a changed landscape. The changes in our lives are fraught with uncertainty but brimming with opportunity.

Our guest, Dr. Dawn Graham, is a talent management director, career coach, TEDx Speaker, LinkedIn Learning Instructor and former Host of the popular call-in show “Dr. Dawn on Careers” on SiriusXM Radio.

Dr. Graham has published nearly 100 articles to Forbes.com under the leadership channel and is the former Career Director for the Executive MBA Program at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Leveraging both her Ph.D. in counseling psychology and extensive experience as a career coach and corporate recruiter, Dawn provides a unique expertise into underlying factors that define any career transition.

Interviewing Dr. Graham is Stephanie Duncan, Immediate Past President of CREW DC and recently retired COO of Stonebridge.

With plenty of time for Q&A, Dawn and Stephanie will discuss how you can apply knowledge of the psychological factors behind hiring decisions, career empowerment and personal marketing strategies to take control of your career. You will learn:

  • Your Network is Your Net Worth. Who are your ambassadors and why are they important?
  • What’s your Unique Selling Point? The 5 key steps to craft your personal brand that’s authentic and serves you well.
  • Crafting Your Career Story: The What, The Why and The How – and why it matters
  • A roadmap for locating the sweet spot where your skills, interests, and the market intersect
  • Life is not fair – it’s biased. Stop pursuing “fair” and start figuring out how to succeed within the boundaries of reality.
  • Why should you focus 100% of your energy on your Plan A and toss Plan B out the window.

Transitioning between roles and careers has become a normal part of professional advancement and there’s never been a better time to redefine ourselves as a professional than right now.

Registrants receive a copy of Dawn’s book “Switchers: How Smart Professionals Change Careers and Seize Success,” providing strategies to break through obstacles, maintain your motivation and launch a better, more rewarding career.
