Please join CREW DC for the first book in our Leading with Learning program. We begin this series with “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin”, by Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.

In the context of this powerful memoir, written by Trayvon Martin’s parents, we will explore a range of antiracist and equity themes, including:

  • The origins of the Black Lives Matter movement
  • The power and limits of popular protest in civil rights movements
  • Stand Your Ground laws
  • Implicit racial bias and stereotyping
  • The power of media language to shape perception

SESSIONS – You may choose one or both sessions

Session 1:  Thursday, October 22 (am time)
Session 2: Tuesday, November 17 (pm time)

Please register by 9/25. 

Cost includes the book, a reader’s guide, and access to two discussion meetings.  The meetings are not repeats  - you can attend one or both.

This program is open to CREW Members and to non-member guests of CREW DC Sponsor companies.
